Smokin' Gecko's BBQ opened up in the Circus in 2009, and brought us the areas first BBQ restaurant. The place is nice inside for a casual restaurant, the food was tasty, and the menu was definitely inexpensive. Its a bit different from the standard coffee shop or bar, and we'll definitely go back! Summary Review: B+

The food was good, even served in little baskets. The chicken strips were crisp and moist, the fries were crisp, hot, and tasty. The BBQ sandwich had a good flavor. The meat was a little dry, but that was easily remedied by adding some extra BBQ sauce to it. The bun could have been a little more....something. There's not a lot of BBQ choices in Reno, so this addition was definitely welcome. Food Review: B

The inside was an open-beam, wood-floor architecture, with tables and booths nicely spread out. The only oddity was seeing the Sushi Bar against the back wall. There was a Southwest theme. It wasn't fancy, but did the job. Atmosphere Review: B

Both our table staff and waitress were very friendly and attentive. It was also a midweek lunchtime when we were there, so the place wasn't crowded. Our food arrived quickly, and as ordered. Our drink never went below half-full. Service Review: A-

The lunch special, was a shredded pork BBQ sandwich, fries, and a drink for $6.99. We also ordered a starter platter of chicken strips for $5. The total bill with tip was $16. The portion sizes were generous, too. Value Review: A
