Gaming Information

The core of every casino business is gambling. If you wanted to get a nice meal, or stay in a nice hotel room you could go anywhere. But casinos have GAMES, and that's what unites the whole experience. Gambling for entertainment can be fun, but be prepared to bet no more than you can afford to lose. Also, know your games and casinos and find somewhere with good table rules, loose slots, solid comps, and good offers.

Slot Machines

Slot Machines and Video Poker comprise the largest amount of space on the casino floor. The machines range from traditional 3-wheel slots, such as Red White and Blue; to branded bonus-round machines like Monopoly, and multi-game Video Poker machines. Be sure to use your slot card to earn comps!

Table Games

Table games are the traditional "old school" casino experience with cards, dice and dealers. The most popular game by far is Blackjack, aka 21. Other common table games are Craps, Roulette, Pai Gow.

Player's Club

The casino "Player's Club" or "Slot Club" is used to track the amount of play a person does in order to determine comps, tiers, and other benefits. This is also what the Casino Marketing department will use to send offers and promotions directly to you.

Poker Room

Poker has taken off in the last few years with the televised high-dollar poker games. Typically, the game is Texas Hold 'em, around a large table with 6-12 players and a dealer. This is one of the few games where you're playing against each other and not the House.

Nevada is the only state in the US that legally takes sports bets, and there is big money floating around here. Look for excellent lines, lots of TVs, a comfy environment, and fast, knowledgeable ticket writers.

Keno is a very old game where each player buys a ticket, and selects a variety of numbers on that ticket. The more numbers that match on that ticket, the greater the winnings! You can win a lot of money on a small bet, but that's also because the odds get really high for lots of matches. Its still fun to buy a ticket when you're sitting a buffet, though!
