Reno-Tahoe Air Travel Tips

Centrally located in Reno right next to 395, the Reno Airport is convenient and quick. There's only two concourses (B, and C, oddly enough), so it's easy to get around. There's a 3-level parking garage directly in front of the terminal, and rarely any traffic. Getting through TSA is usually quick & easy, so you can spend your extra time playing a few slots or surfing the web with the free internet access.

Southwest flies a huge percentage of the Reno flights, with other flights by USAir, United, Horizon, and a few others. There are good connections through Vegas, Phoenix, and Midway, as well as the SF Bay Area. It's pretty easy to get here from the West, but you'll likely be in for a couple of stops if you're coming from the East Coast.

Airport Hotels

While there's no hotel directly attached to the airport, there is a Best Western and a Hyatt Place within walking distance. The Hyatt Place opened in October 2009, so its going to be very new. Neither place has a good sidewalk or covered walkway to it, though. La Quinta and Comfort Inn are close, but it would be a longer, significant walk if you don't take their shuttle. The closest casinos running shuttles are the Grand Sierra, Atlantis, and the Peppermill.
